Genelec Warranty Terms & Conditions*
*Agreement to these Terms & Conditions is required to register your product and activate the extended warranty.
Warranty Period
To protect you against manufacturing faults and defects, all Genelec models come with a standard two-year parts-and-labor warranty, which starts on the date of purchase from an authorized Genelec dealer. A valid proof of purchase (i.e. dealer issued sales receipt or invoice) is required when making a warranty claim.
As part of our sustainability program, Genelec offers an additional three-year extended parts-and-labor warranty – bringing the total coverage to five years. To benefit from the extended warranty, simply register your Genelec model within the initial two-year period. A valid proof of purchase (i.e. dealer issued sales receipt or invoice) is required when registering.
Warranty Coverage
The warranty covers manufacturing defects only. During the warranty period, Genelec or an authorized service center will repair the defective unit at their sole discretion. The warranty includes the parts required for repair and labor. All warranty claims are subject to verification and evaluation by Genelec or its authorized service center.
If you require servicing or wish to make a warranty claim, contact your place of purchase. Alternatively, locate your nearest Genelec representative or a Genelec service center here – or contact Genelec via our Support Portal.
Warranty Limitations
The warranty does not cover:
-
- Normal wear and tear, cosmetic blemishes, or damage resulting from improper handling and storage.
- Use of the models outside their specified environmental conditions.
- Any unauthorized modifications, repairs, or counterfeit parts used.
- Models with altered, removed or otherwise tampered with serial numbers.
- Models without a dated proof of purchase issued by an authorized Genelec dealer.
- Exposure to smoke, liquids, or extreme temperatures.
- Plugging a unit into the wrong voltage.
Transfer of Warranty
Both the standard and extended warranties are attached to the serial number of a model.
Upon resale, the remaining balance of the standard warranty period is transferable from the original owner to the new owner. The same applies for the extended warranty if the model is registered by either the original or new owner within two years from the original date of purchase from an authorized Genelec dealer. In both cases the serial number printed on the model must be intact and legible, the warranty period unexpired, and a valid proof of purchase document showing the original date of purchase from an authorized Genelec dealer must be presented by the new owner.
If the original owner has registered the model, and thereby activated the extended warranty, then assistance is required from the Genelec support team to transfer the remaining period of the extended warranty to the new owner. This process must be initiated by the original owner by contacting the Genelec support team.
International Coverage
We recommend purchasing locally to ensure convenient access to local Genelec support and service. Purchasing abroad may affect where your warranty claim is processed and where the warranty repairs are carried out. The scope of the warranty may also be influenced by local laws and regulations.
